Neema Mduma is a computer science professional working as a Lecturer at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology. She has a PhD in Information and Communication Sciences and Engineering from the same Institution. Neema is passionate about education particularly to girls and she is the founder of BakiShule which aims at preventing students from dropping out of school. As part of community work, Neema organizes free training and workshops with the focus on inspiring and exposing girls to data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. The workshop and training aim to encourage exploration with technology, promote self-confidence and support aspiration to technical careers among girl students. Teaching and doing research is her passion, and she enjoys volunteering and sharing of knowledge with others.
